Thresher shark diving in Malapascua
Malapascua is famous around the world for one reason: the chance to see thresher sharks. Our 3 Shark Dives package is the complete shark trip, with two dives at Kimud Shoal for thresher sharks and one dive at Monad Shoal for the opportunity to encounter tiger sharks. If you are coming to Cebu and the Philippines for shark diving, this is the trip to book.
Why we start at 5:00 AM
Thresher sharks are usually seen in the early morning, when they come up from deeper water to the shoals. That is why the trip leaves at 5:00 AM, so you are in the water at the best time of day. Thresher sharks are easy to recognise by their huge, curved tail fin, which can be as long as the rest of the body, and by their large eyes. Seeing one glide past in the blue is one of the most memorable moments in diving.
Your three dives
Dives 1 and 2 - Kimud Shoal: two chances to see thresher sharks, giving you more time on the shoal than a single dive.
Dive 3 - Monad Shoal: a dive for the opportunity to encounter tiger sharks.
The trip is expected to return around 1 PM, leaving your afternoon free on Malapascua.
What is included
Tank rental, dive guide fee, instructor fees, marine fees, fuel surcharge, light snacks of eggs, bread and fruit, coffee, tea and water, and a diving towel.
Who it is for
This trip is for certified divers holding Advanced Open Water or higher. Not Advanced yet? Our PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course includes shark dives as part of the course. If it has been six months or more since your last dive, book our Refresher Course first so you arrive at the shoal relaxed and ready.
