Package Overview
Become a safer, more confident diver
The PADI Rescue Diver Course at MBI Dive Center teaches you to prevent, recognise and respond to diving emergencies. Over 3 days in Malapascua, you move from thinking only about your own dive to looking out for everyone around you. Many divers describe it as the most challenging and rewarding course they take, and it is one of the most valuable certifications you can earn while scuba diving in the Philippines.
What the course covers
Self-rescue - handling cramps, air problems and fatigue before they become serious
Recognising stress - spotting the early signs of trouble in other divers, at the surface and underwater
Emergency management - taking charge of an incident, using emergency equipment and organising help
Panicked divers - approaching and assisting a diver in distress safely
Unresponsive divers - surface and underwater rescues, and bringing a diver back to the boat or shore
You practise every skill through hands-on rescue exercises and realistic scenarios, building the calm problem-solving that makes a real difference when something goes wrong.
Requirements
Advanced Open Water certification or higher
Emergency First Response (EFR) primary and secondary care training within the past 24 months to certify
Need EFR as well?
If you do not have recent EFR or equivalent first aid and CPR training, book our PADI EFR + Rescue Diver Combo instead. It covers both courses in one program and costs less than booking them separately. You can also take our Emergency First Response course on its own.
What is included
eLearning, instructor fees, equipment rental, marine fees, and fuel surcharge.
Thinking about going pro?
Rescue Diver is the certification you need before starting the PADI Divemaster Course, the first professional level in diving, which we also run here in Malapascua.
