The Advanced course with sharks in it
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course at MBI Dive Center takes your diving to the next level in just 2 days. You complete five adventure dives with our experienced instructors, and in Malapascua three of them are shark dives. Few places in the Philippines let you train, build experience and see sharks on the same course, which is why so many divers choose to do their Advanced course here.

3 Shark Dives - early morning dives in search of Malapascua's famous sharks
1 Sunset Dive - diving as the daylight fades, when the reef changes character
1 Local Dive - a guided dive around Malapascua Island
Every PADI Advanced Open Water course includes the Deep and Underwater Navigation adventure dives, plus three more that build new skills. Each dive is a chance to try a new type of diving with an instructor beside you, without long classroom sessions.
What the course gives you
Certification to dive to 30 metres, more confidence and better air consumption, sharper navigation skills, and a logbook full of new experiences. In Malapascua it also opens the door to our most popular trips for certified divers, including the 3 Shark Dives to Kimud and Monad Shoal and the 3 Gato Island Dives, which require Advanced Open Water or higher.
Who it is for
Divers holding the PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent, with a minimum age of 12. You do not need to be an expert. The course is designed for newly certified divers who want more experience under supervision. If you have not dived for six months or more, ask us about adding our Refresher Course first.
What is included
eLearning, instructor fees, full equipment rental, marine fees, fuel surcharge, and coffee, tea and water during the shark dives.
Your next step
After Advanced Open Water, the next course is PADI Rescue Diver, which teaches you to prevent and manage diving emergencies. Our PADI EFR + Rescue Diver Combo covers it together with first aid and CPR in one program.
